Business Continuity for Springfield & Kansas City Businesses

Business continuity is about one question: if your server dies, the office floods or ransomware locks everything, how quickly can you get back to work? Backups are part of the answer. The rest is knowing what to restore first, where it will run, and having proved it works.

We plan that with you, put the pieces in place, and test them regularly, so recovery doesn't depend on hope or on who happens to be on duty that day.

Sound familiar?

  • Your business runs on one server, and you're not sure what happens if it fails
  • You have backups, but nobody has ever tried restoring a whole system
  • A ransomware attack would stop the business, and you don't know how long for
  • Your insurer is asking how quickly you could recover
  • Losing the office for a week, from a fire, flood or storm, would leave people with nowhere to work

What we do

  • A written recovery plan: what matters most, what gets restored first, and who does what
  • Backups of servers, computers and Microsoft 365, kept separate from your own systems
  • Automatic test restores every few weeks, with a screenshot of each restored system as proof
  • A ready-to-start copy of important servers, kept up to date, so they can run on standby hardware or in the cloud
  • For servers that can't be down, cloud disaster recovery that can bring them up in the cloud while the original is repaired
  • After ransomware, systems checked in an isolated environment before anything reconnects
  • Recovery readiness reports you can show an insurer or a client

These are examples of what we do, not the limit of it.

How we start

  1. 1

We list your systems and decide with you how long each one can be down. That sets what kind of protection it needs.

  2. 2

We set up backups, standby copies and cloud recovery to match, and write the recovery plan in plain English.

  3. 3

We test recovery automatically every few weeks, walk through the plan with you each year, and update it as the business changes.

Questions

What's the difference between backup and business continuity?

A backup is a copy of your data. Business continuity is being able to keep working when something breaks: knowing what to restore, where it will run and how long it takes, and having tested it.

Do we need to buy a backup appliance?

No. Standby copies can run on hardware you already have or in the cloud, so there's no special box to buy, maintain or replace.

How do we know recovery would actually work?

Because it's tested. Every few weeks, systems are restored automatically in a test environment and checked, and you can see the results.

Does every system need the full treatment?

No. A server the business can't run without may need a ready-to-start copy in the cloud. A computer that can be rebuilt in a day may only need a backup. We match the protection to what downtime would cost you.
